garage doors
What are the 3 main types of garage door?
Garage Roller Door
This type of door is a single piece door almost always made from aluminium, that rolls up in to a barrel on the inside of the door to allow entry to the garage.
These doors have high tension springs inside the barrel that help take the load off the door when opening and closing, as well as to help keep the door level.
Tilting Garage Door
This type of garage door is a single piece door, either made from steel, wood or aluminium, that simply tilts upwards and inwards to allow entry to the garage.
These doors have high-tension springs connected to the hinges and cables on each side of the door that help take the weight off the door when lifting and pulling down.
Overhead Garage Door
This type of door is made from panels that are connected by hinges that slide upwards and inwards on tracks and roller wheels to allow entry to the space.
These doors usually have 1 high-tension spring connected to strips on each side of the panel that help take the weight off the door when sliding in and out.
